Teen Pulse: Secondary Virginity
Recommitting to Abstinence

Secondary virginity is "Physically, mentally, and emotionally recommitting to saving sex for marriage."

What many people don't realize is that those who abstain from sexual activity outside of marriage are protecting themselves physically, financially, and emotionally by waiting until someone loves them enough to make a real commitment to them and to their future children. Those who are sexually experienced can do the same thing, starting right now! The past does not necessarily govern your future; you can make a commitment to abstain from sexual activity until you are protected by the love and commitment of a healthy marriage. You can be free to accomplish your goals and live out your dreams.

Abstinence is always an option no matter what your past has been! Remember, you can never get your physical virginity back, but you can start over emotionally.
