March 29, 2011 SC Healthy Family Formation Coalition E-News!
Ask
- Tell Them SC
- About Prevention Services On
Wednesday, March 30th - Legislators will be bombarded with
e-mails begging them to keep funding failed so-called Family Planning
services. Family Planning, and their agenda to ‘protect women’ by
promoting a sex-without-consequences agenda, has done more harm than good
to the women of South Carolina. Tell
Them SC claims to have
8,000 members but less then a hundred so far have signed up to slam
elected officials with e-mails demanding they "invest in prevention
services" that have “saved the state $180 million every year by preventing
teen pregnancies”. Is
Tell Them SC taking credit for all the teens that are
abstaining from sexual activity and not getting pregnant or contracting
STDs? Where does the $180 million saved - come from? Legislators
need to ASK - TELL THEM
SC to define their prevention “priority” services. Do they
seek to prevent the sexual behaviors causing the problems? How can they
claim they make ‘prevention a priority’? Family Planning is a forty-year old failed
welfare program and a huge part of the $469 million SC spends each year on
entitlements to subsidized unwed pregnancies and divorce.
This is $469 million of your hard earned tax dollars picking up the pieces of
chaotic family formation. Do
you really want
It’s
your money. Tell them where to NOT spend
it.

The South Carolina Healthy Family Formation Coalition (SC HFF Coalition) is organized and staffed by Heritage Community Services. The SC HFF Coalition promotes child and family well-being by providing opportunities for statewide communication about such issues as: adolescent pregnancy, unwed childbearing, fatherlessness, sexual exploitation of our youth, dating violence and domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, gang activity and youth violence.
Coalition members support healthy family formation initiatives that integrate character-based life skills, teen pregnancy prevention with an emphasis on abstinence-centered education, and the importance of fidelity-within-marriage.
