SC Healthy Family Formation Coalition E-News!

Every day we are encouraged to continue promoting healthy family formation as the absolute best health message for our youth and families.  Science is on our side and our nation will not survive without healthy families!

The American College of Pediatricians has published a position paper endorsing abstinence-until-marriage education as the norm for our youth, rather than safer sex education.

“By every measure, adolescent sexual activity is detrimental to the well-being of all involved, especially young women,            and society at large.”

“Almost 40 years of emphasis on `safer sex’

with `values neutral’ sex education, condoms

and contraception has clearly failed our young people.”

You’re Teaching My Child What?

All SC-HFF Coalition members are urged to register and attend a Free Lunch & Learn in Columbia on Monday, March 22, from 12 Noon – 3 PM.

Invite other Movers & Shakers within your networks!

This is an opportunity for the SC-HFF Coalition to hear national speakers, Miriam Grossman, M.D. and Valerie Huber present a status report on sex education in America.  Coalition members can meet to network around these important issues.

In addition to lunch, attendees will be given signed copies of Miriam Grossman’s books.  Find out why she is so passionate about sexual health!

See the flyer below and register by Friday, March 19th.  Your registration must be confirmed due to limited seating capacity.

The South Carolina Healthy Family Formation Coalition (SC HFF Coalition) is organized and staffed by Heritage Community Services. The SC HFF Coalition promotes child and family well-being by providing opportunities for statewide communication about such issues as: adolescent pregnancy, unwed childbearing, fatherlessness, sexual exploitation of our youth, dating violence and domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, gang activity and youth violence.

Coalition members support healthy family formation initiatives that integrate character-based life skills, teen pregnancy prevention with an emphasis on abstinence-centered education, and the importance of fidelity-within-marriage.

Together we can impact our culture so that forming healthy families becomes a norm, rather than the exception, for South Carolina.

Please, forward this E-News to interested friends, family and colleagues and ask them to consider joining the Coalition.
